Claire Elise Tippins is a musician and visual artist who started creating digital collages to accompany various music projects of her own and those of friends. Turning late night web surfing and image gathering into still image collages and animated .gifs, Elise developed a collection of works formed out of her found and re-assembled images. This collection is called Fantastic Lands, visions of far away and impossible worlds.
I like that.
ReplyDeleteI love the conflict between what we immediately perceive, and what is real. There is a serenity to this composition - and yet, we know that something is wrong without having to think about it. "She is having a Mediterranean moment on a perfect day" - when in fact, we know she isn't. Perfection only resides in our imaginations. Well done.
